Since none of the releases in the opening month of 2012 could create any ripples in the theatres, the expectations are high on February. Much awaited release for the the month is Unnam scripted by Swathy Bhaskar and directed by veteran director Sibi Malayil. Cinematography is done by Ajayan Vincent. It is widely rumored to be a take on Johny Gaddhar , a 2007 crime thriller noir in Hindi written and directed by Sriram Raghavan.
Unnam features Asif Ali as the hero. This thriller is about the entry of a policeman into the life of five member group played by Asif Ali, Prasanth Narayan, Lal, Nedumudi Venu and Noushi, who are planning to make some easy money and unexpected turn of events. Shwetha Menon and Rima Kallingal play female leads of the movie.
Music director John P. Varkey scores music for Rafeeq Ahamed's lyrics. The movie is produced by Naushad and Basheer under the banner of Kuniyil Productions. Unnam will be released in the theaters by the third of February by R R entertainments.
